EleMentals are standard humanoid based creatures that control the world around them via element manipulation. There will be at least eight default characters (R-GC-1) and the following list are the rough ideas of what the characters will look like:
Septasoul (basic cloak and wiccan hat)
Zorro-esque (black cloak and hat)
Pirate (long coat and a pirate hat or head bandana)
Superhero (cape and a mask)
Revolutionary France (surcoat and a plumy hat)
The Roaring Twenties (fedora and trench coat)
Mexican (sombrero and Mexican blanket)
China (straw hat and flowing robe)
The following is a mockup of what the Septasoul will look like:
To create a character, the player will simply choose which default character they want to use for the game (R-GC-2). Since the game play is not dependent on which character you use, the selection process is more for aesthetics. Once the player has selected their base character, they can customize the name of their EleMental (R-GC-4), and can do some customization on the character model, such as color schemes (R-GC-3).
Since the game is a death match, the enemies in the game are the other EleMentals, either played by the A.I. or by other players. There can be four EleMentals on the map at any given time on the XBox 360 and at least ten EleMentals on a PC LAN game.
The artificial intelligence for the bots will be based on finite state machines. They will switch between several states depending on their personality. For example, an aggressive agent will be more likely to go offensive than defensive (R-GC-5). The player will be able to specify the difficulty of the bot with a slider bar (R-GC-6).
