Multiplayer Game

Overview

EleMental is designed for multiplayer gaming with up to four players on the XBox 360 or local PC game (R-MP-1), at least ten on a PC LAN game, and up to twenty on a gaming server. Players compete in a deathmatch style game where the last player standing is the winner (R-MP-2). They can also play for a preset kill or time limit (R-MP-3). Using the elemental powers at their disposal, players can choose to outsmart or outclass their opponents.  For a multiplayer game run on a server, we expect the system administrators should be able to run a match with up to twenty players, however, that will depend on their server's capabilities more than anything else.

Customization

There are many ways for the player to customize their experience in EleMental. First the players will select the avatar that will represent them in the game. We plan on offering many player avatars for the player and possibly even allow them to load their own. They will also be able to select the elemental powers that they wish to use in the battle (R-MP-4). The number of elements they can have is determined by the map that is being played on.

Internet

The online multiplayer mode shall allow up to twenty players simultaneously. The players will also be able to share maps and character models that they have created with the online community. We believe that this will add a whole another level of fun to the experience.

Saving and Loading

While playing a multiplayer match, the players will be able to save the current state of the world's terrain as a heightmap file (R-MP-5). This file can later be used to create a new map that can be used in future games.
